Dumisani Dlamini is a veteran South African actor best known playing Crocodile one of Mary Masombuka (Whoopi Goldberg) on Hollywood movie Sarafina about South Africa apartheid. Dlamini has also appeared on Drum, Isindiso and Yizo Yizo. Dumisani Dlamini is also the father of famous American musician Doja Cat.
Career and Education
Dumisani Dlamini rose to prominence as Crocodile one of Mary Masombuka (Whoopi Goldberg) on Hollywood movie Sarafina about South Africa apartheid. After touring United States of America as part Sarafina cast Dumisani Dlamini decided to stay in the country and stayed for 15 years before going back to South Africa after getting homesick.
Dumisani Dlamini has also appeared on Drum, Isindiso and Isibaya (Mbodla). Dlamini also playing a starring role on Yizo Yizo as Chester.
Wife and Children
Dumisani Dlamini was married to a Jewish American woman Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer whom she stayed with for 15 years in United States after Sarafina tour. Dumisani Dlamini had two children with Deborah Sawyer one of the famous musician Doja Cat whose real name is Amalaratna Zandile Dlamini.
In 2001 Dumisani Dlamini wanted to marry Girlie Nhlengethwa a chartered accountant but Dumisani said he didn't afford R23 000 Girlie's family was demanding. Dumisani also wanted to marry fellow Sarafina star Nandi Ndlovu but singer Lebo M won her over while he was planning the marriage.
There are claims that Dumisani has got seven children. His first born child is Kwazi.
