Kellie Chauvin is a Asian American woman from Minneapolis best known as the wife of police officer Derek Chauvin who allegedly suffocated to death George Floyd during an arrest on 26 May 2020. Kellie Chauvin is a former Mrs. Minnesota pageant contestant.


Kellie Chauvin works as a realtor with Re/Max Results.  She is a former radiologist and a former Mrs. Minnesota pageant contestant.


Kellie Chauvin was born in 1974 in Laos and moved to United States as a refugee. She is 46 years old as of 2020.


Kellie Chauvin was married to Derek Chauvin around 2010. She filed for divorce on 29 May 2020 the day Derek Chauvin was charged for George Floyd's murder. The couple have no children together.

Sekula Law Offices, lawyers representing Kellie issued a statement saying she was devastated with Floyd's death and sympathisizes with his family.

"This evening, I spoke with Kellie Chauvin and her family. She is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy. She has filed for dissolution of her marriage to Derek Chauvin."

Kellie Chauvin was previously married  to  Kujay Xiong who is now dead.


Kellie Chauvin has two children from her relationship with ex-husband Kujay Xiong.
